The Cloudreaver principality is based on the island of Krag and is led by Mika Rockface. It is a blend of dwarves and orcs -- traditionally enemies in The Mror Holds, these races have found common cause on the seas. The Cloudreavers have always been wild and unpredictable, prone to violent feuds and acts of savagery. They never gave up the practice of piracy, even during the height of Galifar's power; this has cost them dearly over the generations, and their power has waxed and waned with the luck of the sea. Currently the Cloudreavers have a fleet of six vessels, but these ships are remarkably swift; the Cloudreavers possess a number of windsails, which are magic items imbued with a permanent wind's favor. These treasures allow the Cloudreavers to range far from their homeland and to match the speed of elemental galleons. Typically, the Cloudreavers prey on the southeastern shores of Galifar, striking at Q'barran, Aereni, Darguun, and Zil vessels and villages; occasionally Cloudreaver captains even head into Brelish shipping lanes, attacking ships en route to Stormreach or Trolanport. The Cloudreavers prefer to strike at night, taking full advantage of the darkvision possessed by most of their sailors.

The Cloudreavers are mostly chaotic dwarves and orcs, with a few humans. Most Cloudreavers are warriors or barbarians, with a few fighters and rangers. Many Cloudreavers worship the Devourer, and some develop druidic abilities as a result of this devotion. The principality takes its name from this practice; tales speak of Cloudreaver pirates calling lightning from the sky to shatter enemy sails and ships.

The Cloudreaver Principality is in some ways the antithesis of the Seadragons. If Ryger’s rule represents stability for the Lhazaar Principalities as the nation moves forward to a new future, the Cloudreavers represent the violent instability of a return to the old ways of bloodthirsty piracy. Led by Prince Mika Rockface (CE female dwarf barbarian 6), the Cloudreavers are a powerful band of marauders claiming six fast ships and Krag Island, including Port Krez.

Wild and terrible, a powerful band of marauders known as the Cloudreavers hides in the caves and coves around Port Krez to strike swiftly at passing ships or those whose crews have been disoriented by the mists of the Gray Tide. Prince Mika Rock face (CE female dwarf, barbarian 6) commands the Cloudreaver Principality, with its fleet of six fast ships, a less than hospitable village, and the hamlets spread out around it. Mika’s pirates and raiders terrorize the sealanes that run along the southern shore of Khorvaire and strike at coastal villages in Q’barra, Aerenal, Darguun, and Zilargo. Brelish and Zil naval forces have attempted to stop Cloudreaver raids in the past, but without success.

While almost every principality submitted to Galifaran rule a thousand years ago, one stubbornly persisted with bloodthirsty piracy – the Cloudreavers. Consisting primarily of orcs and dwarves long exiled from the mainland, many of the most horrifying tales of Lhazaar butchery involve the Cloudreavers raiding under the cover of darkness. The Cloudreavers are particularly well known for ranging across the southern coast of Khorvaire, far from their home port.

The Cloudreavers have a ragtag fleet of ships, each customized to the captain’s liking. What unites the principality is their ability to draw upon the primal power of the ocean and the destructive wrath of the devourer – many Cloudreaver warriors can fly into death-defying rages, while almost every ship has at least one spellcaster who can control the wind and call down terrifying bolts of lightning. The hierarchy of the cloudreavers is determined almost entirely by individual combat prowess, a survival of the fittest on the open sea.
