Tartus, one of the eldest gods of the Meidallan Pantheon, is said to turn the world with his massive size. He does this to ensure that the world does not fall into the grasp of an eternal freeze, although he takes a break from and slows his turning during winter months. This hastening and slowing of turning explains the seasons.

Therefore, many who rely on the seasons, such as farmers, worship him. Within his domain on Adrovia is also the magical school of Transmutation.
