Ingutrude Gudelmar

Owner of the Dancing Dolphins House
NPC

Ingutrude Gudelmar is the great-great granddaughter of Albaerlus Gudelmar, the first owner of the Dancing Dolphins House.  Following the death of her father Fredagar Gudelmar in 1452, she took ownership of the estate and leadership of the "shield rings." Ingutrude never married, focusing more on growing a profitable business and expanding the reach and influence of the house than finding a spouse.  As a result, she was the subject of gossip at many of her parties. Rumors spread that she was too unpleasant for any man to marry her and that she was cursed with infertility.  Ingutrude developed a stiff upper lip and no nonsense attitude in response to these rumors and the difficulties of running the estate, which helped her greatly in negotiating trade deals and navigating Athkatlan politics.

In 1466, Ingutrude's distant cousins perished in a tragic boating accident, orphaning three children:  Albaerlus Gudelmar V, Ermenele Gudelmar, and Lilliana Gudelmar.  With no other living kin of means, Ingutrude took them in and raised them as her own.  Facing the new challenge of single motherhood was no easy task for the serious-minded businesswoman, but her conviction and her life partner Gorbaduc Flintshield got her through.

Today, Ingutrude seeks retirement and is constantly assessing her three adopted children for their ability and readiness to take over the Dancing Dolphins House.  While she does host a few gatherings and parties, she leaves most of the work to them, to train and test them in running things.
