General Description
Wyverns are probably the poster children for the Pseudodragons, being the first thing most dracologists will think of when the term is used, and being a prime example of the extreme adaptation that is distinctive of them. Wyverns are small, less than half the size of a Fire Dragon and second only in minuteness to the dog-sized Dragonling, and roughly serpentine in appearance with gigantic wings in proportion to the rest of their bodies which are fused with their front legs, unlike on other winged Dragons where they are a separate limb. Their long tails end in a sharp stinger and a flat vertical fin which they use as a rudder, and their heads are roughly conical with the point at the tip of their snout and two small horns which continue this streamlined shape.

Perfect Flyers
The reasoning for these evolutions becomes obvious when one observes a Wyvern in its natural habitat. Wyverns are ungainly and awkward on the ground but are built to fly in the same way Drakes are built to eat, able to move at incredible speeds through the air with pinpoint agility. All extraneous weight, even the organs that would in other Dragons give them their trademark breath weapon, are absent, evolved away in exchange for extra speed and maneuverability in the air. They do, however, have a scorpion-like stinger at the end of their tails, which they use as a weapon during fighting for mates, and is loaded with a potent tetrodotoxin.

Siege Weapons and Warfare
This perfect evolution of the True Dragons’ flying ability has not gone unnoticed by powers around the world. Both the UPP and the Troll Empire have experimented at length with using Wyverns as flying mounts, with limited success due to the extreme territoriality and aggression that Wyverns tend to display, as well as the fact that despite not being as intelligent as True Dragons or Dracoliches they are smart enough to realise that the heavy bipedal beings trying to ride them don't necessarily have their best interests at heart. There usefulness has been further reduced to their fragility when struck by arrows and javelins quickly dealing mortal blows to their fragile bodies.

Fighting Wyverns
Wyverns are fast and hard to hit, but are extremely weak physically with the exception of the bones around their skull and neck. They can easily be killed with conventional weapons of any type but blunt trauma is especially effective as their hollow bones are not very resilient to high impacts.
