The Hooded Man, also known by many other names including the Hooded Habd, acts as the Avatar and mouthpiece for Dezrael. His actual origin, race and even appearance are sources of much speculation, with some such as the Temple of the Hooded Hand even theorising that he is Dezrael himself in one of his countless forms.
During the events of A Short Month, The Hooded Man assists Bel Kuko while attempting to acquire her soul for his Master Dezrael, seemingly purely to torture her for the sake of annoying The Nameless One. All this managed to achieve however was that Bel became the first and only mortal ever to lay hands on the Hooded Man when she punched him in the face.
