Kaz'zarrah Ibnat Haddad

The Ruby of Seke'teth
Player Character

"Thinking on it, aside from the Suns and the friends we've made along the way, there's not much tying me to the Golden Coast anymore. I have what I wanted, my family never wanted me in the first place... I really could go anywhere I wanted."

- Kaz'zarrah to Ninelith

Kaz'zarrah, also known as the Ruby of Seke'teth, is a dancer of unknown origins (publicly) who regularly performs on the road and in small towns. Having performed on the streets since childhood, she has attained some renown for her grace and skill in the art of bellydancing, incorporating the use of scimitars in her performances to wow crowds. Despite being recognized for her talents, however, her Tiefling blood has caused her to be regarded with a mix of fascination and disgust, viewed as a 'sinful distraction' and often discriminated against and treated with condescending 'respect'.

History

Born to a pair of Khameni merchants and their seven children in Khapo, Kaz'zarrah's birth, though initially welcomed by the family, soon proved to bring great shame to Haddad and his wife once it became clear that the young baby girl was cursed with demon blood, sprouting two nubs on her forehead just days after her arrival. Following this discovery, a choice was then made; Kaz'zarrah would be brought to an orphanage for children who were similarly considered undesirable by Khapoan society, and was thus abandoned by her birth family at the tender age of six months.

Growing up in the orphanage, Kaz'zarrah soon took to life on the streets instead to survive and make a living, discovering her talent for performance and dancing. She would regularly perform on the streets of Khapo, largely shunned due to her tiefling blood, but soon the young woman would eventually migrate to Seke'teth to try her fortune, and as luck would have it, fortune she struck once she became a regular performer at the Thirsty Camel tavern, taking on the moniker of the Ruby of Seke'teth. A few years after she'd struck fame, however, Kaz'zarrah suddenly left Seke'teth for unknown reasons, and no one knows why the Ruby of Seke'teth had chosen to forgo her comfortable residence at the Camel for life on the road. Rumours on the street say it might be a spurned lover, or an old friend come to take her to better places, but whether such rumours held true or not, none can say.

Powers and Abilities

Though appearing nothing more but a skilled performer and dancer at first glance, Kaz'zarrah is an adept in the Way of the Eternal Steel, a Kiranese combat philosophy that emphasizes grace and perfection in the art of wielding a weapon. As such, she possesses considerable knowledge in harnessing the power of Ki, enabling her to make precise and powerful strikes with her fists, capable of denting armor and knocking savage foes out with rapid-fire movements. Her training has made her proficient in the usage of scimitars, not just as a prop for her performances, but also in battle, slicing foes with deadly accuracy, and she has displayed equal skill in dart-throwing. In addition, years of training have enabled Kaz'zarrah to catch arrows fired in her direction, occasionally able to throw them back with equal force.

As a student of the Eternal Steel, Kaz'zarrah is able to perform a wide variety acrobatic movements alongside her weapons training, capable of doing cartwheels, flips, and other agile tricks. She has shown great dexterity in jumping long distances and and climbing places, using her acquired mobility to move around the battlefield at great pace and dodge or parry incoming strikes.
