The National Weather Center is a major GodMachine facility, and it is responsible for modification of weather and climate. It consumes massive amounts of Essence, and has Concealment and Defensive Infrastructure. There are floors devoted to occult machinery and Infrastructure. It is run by angels Nuriel who Incarnates as Rachel Newman, and Barachiel who incarnates as Noah Custer. They are served by a cult of Weathermen who are either fanatical or mechanical. To humans the dozen or so tornado chasing cars, with their antennae and whirling anemometers are a pleasant reminder of the Weather Center’s vigilance. To demons, who know exactly what these devices detect, they are an ever-present danger. The true purpose of the larger mobile “radar” trucks are even more sinister.
Concealment Infrastructure does not in general work on Demon. To a Demon the Weather Center appears as a monstrosity, topped by a set of gears and cogs each larger than a man from which sprouts an huge seven-blade windmill, that turns in its own mystical winds. No normal human sees this. A Demon approaching the weather center can feel a magic tension as if their hair stood on end.
This facility serves as the occult matrix for controlling weather. In addition, it performs many of the occult calculations required by the GM in order to predict the chaotic future, indicating what person must die or who must get married to preserve the timeline the GM is fostering. It is too well defended to attack directly. The last attempt to do so is recorded in history as the May 3rd 1999 F5 tornado.
