Arwen is an ancient, fortified, elven city in The Light Echo known for its association with literature, magic and high-value luxury goods. It was built around The Temple of Corellon. Arwen is a pilgrimage destination for scholars who go to the Temple to study at the Parmassë (temple library). The city is outstandingly beautiful, with many terraced gardens, tree-lined streets and colourful singing birds.

Points of Interest

The Markets

Although it is difficult to reach Arwen (see Travelling to Arwen below), it nonetheless attracts numerous visitors. Many types of quality goods are available in the city's common markets, open most days except High Temple Days. However, the very best goods are found at the Antiques and Luxury markets, held on the four days around a full moon. The Book Market is held every fourth full moon in the Temple courtyard. The Book Market has been known to attract disreputable dealers. It is advisable to verify any expensive book purchases beforehand with the Priest-Librarians at the Parmassë.

Travelling to Arwen

The reflection of (and entrance to) Arwen on the The Prime Material Plane consists of ruins in The Maestro Mountains. Maps showing the ruins' location are rare and costly. Beware of counterfeits. You can identify a true map by its imprint of the 8-sided seal of the deity Corellon, warded so the seal cannot be erased.
