Expedition 31 - Koko's Account

My army of chaos was reduced to guard duty whilst the crew descended the watery tomb, where they fought some wretched wailing denizen, somewhat fewer emerged but loaded with artifacts, my trusty spear of frost was handed to my dwarf lieutenant and I acquired a handy trident festooned with shells and reeking of seaweed.

We returned to the keep but soon set out on another journey to another tomb, this one of a rather fat merchant with his swindled riches, it wasn't long before the mummified corpse animated to avoid desecration of its burial place, but we made short work of it, only one suffered a mere scratch.

The lower chambers were flooded, an annoyance but thankfully no one chose to disrobe this time, and my trident granting the ability to walk across the surface meant I scouted out and confirmed the floor was solid and no crabs came to meet us. An adjoining chamber revealed small silver idols that we decided to take back to camp, but on return we met a somewhat large gathering of unruly warriors with two pompous brats as their command, and it emerged they intended to raid the tomb as well.

The guile of our crew managed to convince them we should join forces rather than fightover unknown spoils, and we had already secreted the silver idols, so a paltry two fifths share of the treasure was agreed, and we descended once again with the pompadours and some of their retinue.

A side chamber revealed a mountain of gem stones which the greedy guards rushed to fill their pockets, when the gems formed into a whirling mass that whipped us with its glassy limbs, we fought bravely as the spineless toffs fled, after two of their number succumbed to a wicked blast of jewelled breath, eventually a smash from our chapeau'd dwarf's great axe bellowing his name brought the glass mountain to rest.

The share of gems amounted to a goodly haul, the cowardly nobles offering us gold which we accepted.
