Oceanyka, still sometimes known post-independence as Australia, is a confederation of tribes, villages, towns and city-states located in the continent of Oceania. It is an anarchic land filled with treasure, danger, cruelty and death. Outside of the palisades of villages, the stone walls of towns, the sniper towers of cities and the bunkers of colonial outposts anarchy reigns, and he with the biggest gun wins. Oceanyka autonomously developed two different civilisations which had been at war with each other for millennia before the arrival of foreign settlers; the Aboriginals and the Ferozen. In their last great war, they destroyed each other, leaving the continent ripe for British colonisation. This state of affairs lasted for almost a century, greatly enriching the Empire, but Oceanyka reached independence through bloody revolution in the late 19th century, as a confederation between all peoples within it. Originally aligned with the West, a left-wing revolution in the capital has brought it closer to the Moscow Pact, under the leadership of President Alan Redfort.

It is well known that Homo Erectus colonised Australia roughly 1.5 million years ago. Local species from around that era are not radically different from those of surrounding biogeographical regions. However, roughly 800,000 years ago the Enigmatic Impact Event occurred, and Homo Erectus disappeared. Fossil and rock samples from that epoch point towards the idea that something went very wrong, puzzling all sorts of scientists since the 19th century. Whatever happened in those 800 millennia, it is likely responsible for Oceanyka's strange and unique disposition. With the arrival of Homo Sapiens to the Australian landmass, the Primitive Age begins.

The 10.5cm FlaK 38 is a German anti-air cannon which was developed parallel to, and as competitor, to the infamous 88mm guns. However, it had similar performance despite being much heavier, and so it was relegated to static air defence. During French and Soviet bomber raids, it was the 10.5cm guns which rained hails of shrapnel on their formations, as most 8.8cm guns were on the frontline.

The Republic of Sydney has faced off against hostile neighbours for more than a century and a half. In that time several elite units have been formed and disbanded, from the 96th Recon Rifles to the modern S.D.F. Airmobile Commando Regiment. After the heroic sacrifice of the 102nd Airborne in an assault on the inner walls, the 1st Airborne Commandos was quickly formed from their remnants. With the recent importation of helicopters, it was decided paratroopers were excessive for the defense of the polity's walled border. Therefore the "AComReg" was to replace past quick response units and take full advantage of modern helicopters' capabilities. The regiment is equipped as light infantry, giving them very high mobility that lends itself well with helicopter transport. They prefer the L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle and its variants over the OPA's AKM due to its precision and power, but AR-10s and AR-15s imported from the United States are becoming increasingly popular.

Between 1788 and 1818, around two million people migrated from all around the world towards Oceanyka. Most of them were English, Scottish and Irish colonists from the British Isles. Although many of these people were skilled workers or volunteer fighters which were taken up by the participants of the Revolutionary Wars, and others homesteaders or settlers which carved out a living in the region east of the Great Dividing Range, the majority were convicts of the Empire, whose labour would redeem them in the eyes of the Crown.

Punch guns are bolt-action anti-materiel rifles made of scrap-metal in Oceanyka's underground workshops. They are typically nothing more than a VERY thick steel pipe attached to a bunch of bits and sheet boxes, then haphazardly welded together. If it doesn't go off like a hand grenade in the first shot, a punch gun can be trusted to make a lightly armoured vehicle's day much worse than it was before... for however long its firing mechanism lasts. Punch guns are named after a pointy tool used in metalworking to perforate metal when force is applied, much like the .50 BMG cartridge these guns usually fire does. Except instead of a product of human industry, these punches typically leave gory scenes.

Dreamway mushrooms are a very rare species of fungi native to Australia, which only grow in temperate and cold climates with enough humidity. These mushrooms are renowned throughout the country as having a very strong psychedelic effect thanks to their enormous concentration of DMT, one of them can have as much effect as a tablet of commercial LSD. In Aboriginal Dreamtime these fungi are a path towards the spiritual realm, hence the name. While that much is unknown the mushrooms are extremely popular for religious, cultural, recreational and exportation purposes. However, controlled cultivation has proven impossible, and they must be found in nature, which is no easy task. Also, dreamway mushrooms contain extremely exotic chemicals which are useful for synthetising strong alchemical serums.
