Welcome to the Vigilants. You are one of the thousands of people living in the imperial capital of Sentra, the jewel of the Empire

For some of you, this is home—a comfortable and familiar place you've known your entire life.  For others, the city may only be a brief stop, perhaps one of many in your travels.  But regardless of how you came here, you share the same streets.

Depending on who you are—and where you live—Sentra can be a beautiful city of wonder and splendor. Yet that perfect city is only what many people see on the surface.  There are those that understand there is more to the city, that there are flaws in it that run deeper than what most will see.  There are those that know what lies beneath.

The Story

Niman was a student studying theoretical thaumaturgy at Pallida University. Originally from Seidland, he was granted a scholarship granted by one of the foundations of House Fournius. He has no family in the city.

He died from an acute case of Arcstone poisoning, which should not have been possible given his circumstances. An autopsy revealed that his internal anatomy was mirrored.

Semeko works in Renatus Hall as a night shift custodian.

He said he was the one who discovered Niman Agerson's body, lying in the middle of the arcane circle in the workshop, on the 32nd of Mais. Semeko said that unlike the other students and faculty, Niman talked to him and exchanged pleasantries.

Warden Fario Tanikus did not interview Semeko about Niman's death.

Part of the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Imports serves as a cornerstone in the economic infrastructure of the Empire, tasked with overseeing and regulating all goods entering the empire. Its mandate encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities, from enforcing trade policies and tariffs to ensuring the compliance of imported goods with safety and quality standards. The Ministry plays a critical role in facilitating trade agreements, working closely with foreign entities to secure favorable terms that bolster the Empire's economic prosperity. Within its purview also lies the crucial task of monitoring and managing the importation of strategic resources, such as the highly coveted Arcstones, ensuring these vital materials are allocated efficiently and responsibly to serve the Empire's interests.

Random Spotlights

Beneath the  Palatial District and most of the rest of the city is a complex of refuse-filled tunnels that make up the sewer system of Sentra.  It is a mix of cavernous midden chambers and smaller tunnels that channel waste water.  Magewrights employ arcane tools of purification to cleanse the water, which is then emptied into the rivers.  These areas are protected by the City Watch.  In poorer areas of the city, there is no such purification process, and the sewage is usually dumped directly into the river system. Outside of these purification chambers, there is no regular maintenance performed in the sewers, and large portions of the sewers are unlit and lawless.

Kappa has recently been cast as Solarian, the main role for the new play by Artur.  He spent some time working at The Gilded Stage before doing work out of the city in other theaters.  He then returned to Sentra, and was chosen for the main role.

On the morning of Aprivius 5, he was found murdered in his dressing room. He was poisoned by Sana Eillar.

Vigilants are followers of Kolrehs as the aspect of the Divine Judge. Other Kolrehsans consider them to be a tolerated sect. They can be found in most major towns and cities serving as a city watch and judges, maintaining peace and law. Even some smaller communities may have one or two Vigilants to help keep the peace.

The Vigilants can be paternalistic, and can appear to be stifling, condescending, and even domineering. Some followers are eager to tell people what to think and how to think. Others are more open-minded, and may have their own methods of finding justice.

Vigilants don't build churchs as much as they build prisons, courthouses, and watchtowers. These places serve as places of worships as much as any shrine or temple. The holy text of the Vigilants, the Edict of Law, usually sits in a public place inside their building. It's main tenet is to pursue justice tempered by wisdom and mercy.

In the city of Sentra, the Vigilants serve alongside the Imperial Watch.  The Watch is the overarching organization that enforces the laws, and the Vigilants run the court system and investigate Crime.  However, there are Vigilant lawkeepers that tend to patrol areas the Watch does not.  Vigilants that are on duty wear a baldric over their shoulder that shows their holy symbol.

Vigilants are sometimes referred to as Blue Belts in reference to their baldric, or Vidgies if someone wants to be more insulting.
