The Land:

A floating island, surrounded by orbiting pieces of land floats in the sky far above the lawlessness of the ground. This magnificent marvel of modern civilization is almost overshadowed by the awe-inspiring tower of pure crystal that juts from the center of the island. The centerpiece of this land, and its source of wealth, is covered in floating scaffolding as miners go to work carefully mining this almost immutable mineral.

The City:

The city’s streets lined with businesses and homes, the capitol building extremely apparent as the main tower is affixed with a shining array of crystals orbiting its peak. The streets are alive with miners and merchants as the trade season is just beginning, airships coming and going en masse from the large city port.

The People:

The city is home to an extremely diverse population of free people from across the continent. From humans and elves, to genasi and felidae, all people have at least a small presence within the limits of Crystalspire.

With the diversity also comes freedom, the people of this city live a free life with their needs provided to them by the city. There is a program of universal income and any medical services are provided free of charge. People here pursue their interests and create businesses to attain a higher level of fulfillment.

The people of Crystalspire aren’t without their prejudices, and like any other place, racism, sexism, and other forms of discrimination do exist here, even amongst the government.

The Government:

The government is a council of representatives, one from each race and gender or identities within those races. Once a race has attained a sizable population within the city, they petition for representative seats for their race.

Criminals:

Crime has to exist in a city as large and free as Crystalspire, especially a city as wealthy as it. The Agents of Avarice, Mattis Madmen, and Katais Order all vie for power within the city while the Void Community seeks to maintain some semblance of criminal order.

Trade:

The town subsists on its trade of magical crystals that has a wide use of applications from technological enhancement, energy, to even absorbing magical energy. Crystalspire also holds a place as a trade city between many of the kingdoms of Estir.

The city also houses many academies which draw in travelers and new inhabitants looking for a formal education in things such as blacksmithing, business, and even practical application of magic. That last one is quite controversial amongst many of the kingdoms, but without a formal government residing over them they are without restriction from doing so.

Districts:

  • Arcanist’s District: This district is populated by scholar’s of the many academies for practical application of magic, also the famed Hound’s Tavern just outside the Academy for the Untamed Arts.
  • Business District: This district houses the businesses and academies of those more interested in the intricacies of finances.
  • Old District: A slum of rundown and abandoned buildings from decades past.
  • Ruling District: This district houses the governmental buildings of the city, being where the representatives do their work.
  • Port District: The district where the Skyports are located, a vastly important area once trade season starts.
  • Trade District: A large and expansive area of the city where most of the business are ran from.
