Ævar

This character is dead.
All-God of the Five Realms, God of Fate and Time
Deity

This article is about the God Ævar, for information about his worship see Ævar.

Ævar was the All-God of the Realms Pantheon and creator of The Five Realms, as well as the God of Fate and Time. Since his death, he is no longer worshipped in The Five Realms outside of fringe groups. His Divine Realm was that of The High Citadel, with his principal Solar being Atira.

Depictions of Ævar are almost uniquely uniform within the Realms Pantheon, depicted as a well-dressed attractive older man with salt and pepper hair, often holding a staff.

In the year 3215BA, The Great Reset occured, caused by Ævar's death at Sicarius's hand, an action which erased all mortal memory and record of his existence. For thousands of years a few academics theorised the previous existence of a Fourteenth God, or the Forgotten God, from the gaps in records and texts, and temple ruins that survived.

In the year 1BA, Ævar was briefly resurrected by a group of adventurers and his surviving High Priestess Megaira Sonnique, giving him the chance to sow the seeds that would lead to Ævar's Return on the third Morndus of Sunmas 0Æ. Everyone in The Five Realms both heard and felt his return as he spoke into their minds, assuring them they all had a purpose within his divine plan. He appointed Mælavor'ra Ke'var as his new High Priestess shortly after.

Popular opinion of Ævar was high during his return, though many a lewd or mocking tavern song began to circulate about him, until a group of adventurers killed his High Priestess and told the world broadcast into their minds that he had been responsible for the various tragedies that had befallen them such as the Elf Plague and the Collapse of the Home of the Dwarves. Upon learning the truth, King Alistair Sonnique of Mironia launched the Assault on Heaven, killing Ævar once and for all.
