Brewing is the art of harnessing latent magical and medicinal properties though mechanical, chemical, and metabolic means. Juice, teas, spirits, and beers all affect the body and mind in different and unique ways.

When you make a Crafting skill check for brewing, you must subtract gold from your inventory representing the components necessary for crafting. A single check can yield multiple products.

When you first learn to use the brewer's supplies, choose three of the five starting brews, representing the crafting recipes you learned to develop as you practiced your skills to novice level. You will learn additional brews as you develop your techniques and hone your recipes. For a complete list of Brew Descriptions.

To move to the next skill level, a character must at least create 1 item at their current level before they can be considered for advancement to the next level. Example a Novice Brewer who is a level 12 warlock can't start casting Master level brews until they have made one brew from each Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced level brew table. They also need to have learned the potion recipe, found out in the world or from another Brewer.

Brewery Sickness

Brewery is unique in that it often produces multiple usable quantities of product. You can choose to keep all the brew to yourself or to spread it around your group. If you or a comrade imbibes an additional brew before the duration of the last brew has ended, suffer 1 level of exhaustion until a long rest.

Characteristics of Different Brews

Each brew is unique, but they fall into distinct groups. Beers augment your physical strength. Juices and jellies enhance your dexterity. Spirits reinforce your constitution. White teas clear the mind to focus intellect. Green teas rejuvenate and boost wisdom, sense, and perception. Black teas bolster charisma, confidence, and sense of identity.

Neverwinter, also known as the City of Skilled Hands and the Jewel of the North, was a multi-racial city-state sitting on the northwestern Sword Coast of Faerûn. Neverwinter was regarded by Volo as the most cosmopolitan and the most civilized city in all of Faerûn. The city was a member in good standing of the Lords' Alliance.

Before the eruption of Mount Hotenow, Neverwinter was a picturesque city and boasted such sights and edifices that would be noteworthy in other cities, but were fairly common features in the Jewel of the North.

Services

Neverwinter's broadsheet was named "Neverwinter Nights"

Protector's Enclave is city core and center of rebuilding city.

Blacklake District is north of Protector's Enclave. Mostly shops and homes for the new nobles of the city.

River District was know as the Towers District north of the river and east of Blacklake.

Beached Leviathan and Diftwood Tavern most popular places in city.

Hall of Juctice and House of Knowledge serve to cater to the faithfull of Tyr and Oghma.

Brief History

The first settlement in the Savage Frontier was an elven city known as Illefarn. Illefarn became a bustling nation after the time of the Crown Wars. Eventually, Illefarn was divided into three nations, of which Iliyanbruen was the most prominent. Iliyanbruen was weakened by orc invasions, which paved the way for Eigersstor, the first multi-racial settlement in the area, which would later be called Neverwinter.

Neverwinter became a center of civilization, peace and culture and was widely viewed as a marvel by visitors. This trend lasted, seemingly unbroken since its founding until 1372 DR when a disease known as the Wailing Death laid low most of the city's inhabitants. Then, in 1385 DR, the Spellplague struck.

The century that followed saw the rise in power of Netheril. Netherese loyalists infiltrated the power structure of the weakened Neverwinter, but their efforts were sidetracked by the eruption of Mount Hotenow in 1451 DR, so powerful that laid the city to waste and killed the ruling royal family.

In 1467 DR, Lord Dagult Neverember, seeing an opportunity to add to his financial empire, hired workers to help rebuild the city and Mintarn mercenaries to protect it from monsters and bandits; claiming himself to be a descendant of Neverwinter's former rulers and thus the rightful "Lord Protector" of the city, started the New Neverwinter movement. Lord Neverember invested a great deal of his own personal fortune to rebuild the city's infrastructure, buy the interest of merchants to send their caravans again to Neverwinter, and even ensuring Neverwintan refugees had enough food and gold in hand.

Trade

With the destruction of Neverwinter in 1451 DR, trade came to a total halt in the region.

After 1461 DR, as part of the rebuilding efforts Lord Neverember focused much of his resources to restore trade and to contract crafters to help restore the city's infrastructure. Merchants from the "new" continent of Laerakond began to trade with the Faerûrian cities of the Sword Coast some years before 1479 DR. In Neverwinter, a group of traders from Tarmalune, one of the Windrise Ports of Laerakond, approached Lord Neverember in hopes to establish permanent trade routes between the two continents.

Without guilds to restrict trade or construction, those who wanted to start a business in Neverwinter could simply do so, and those traders who dealt with basic products, such as foodstuff, became wealthy just by selling their goods in the city. Likewise, there was demand for many jobs, and those who wanted to offer their services either as workers or as apprentices had plenty of options despite the high competition.

The Chasm

The Chasm was a huge canyon-like crack amid the southeastern district of Neverwinter.

The Chasm occupied what was once the districts known as the Beggar's Nest and the Arcanist Quarter, that were destroyed during the cataclysm that followed the eruption of Mount Hotenow. Because of that, the surrounding areas were in utter ruins, a maze of destroyed buildings and clotted streets.

The Chasm proper was big, covering almost all of the central part that once was the Arcanist Quarter central area, and many earthmotes floated amid and around the abyss, some drifting slowly and others bashing against the walls of the Chasm or against each other. The Chasm was also deep, reaching down to a lake located in the Underdark.

The land within the Chasm proper was warped and twisted because of the plagueland located below Neverwinter. Storms of elemental energy and other strange phenomena could surge up from the depths without warning at any moment. The survivors of the catastrophe built a wall to better protect themselves against the monsters.

Research has just started by Lord Unknown to seal the Chasm from  more creatures.

Brief History

Phandalin was a human village located northeast of Leilon, where the road that ran from the High Road to Triboar faded into a trail. It was raided by orcs in 951 DR and subsequently abandoned. Orcs were in search of game since they had none left in their realm. It was eventually resettled, and Phandalin became a frontier settlement of farmers and prospectors looking for wealth in the Sword Mountains. Settlers are from Neverwinter and Waterdeep. The small village has become a frontier settlement of farmers and prospectors looking for wealth in the Sword Mountains. Current fear is the orc invasion can happen again.

Unknown runs the Wave Echo Cave and lives in the cave but his staff all live in town.

Defense

City now has a wall preimeter from the forest in the northeast heading west over the stream and then heading south. Does not completely surround the city yet, but the plans will eventual have the wall meet up with the foothills in the south.

City has currently 5 city defense members lead by Unknown at Chasty Wrex Barracks near the north gate.

Other Information

Rumor of eyes seen outside the borders of the town. New people have been attracted tot he town now that word has spread about the opening of the Wave Echo Cave. Lots of crafters and labors are coming to take part of an up and coming town.
