Kobold

Humanoid

"Kobolds were once considered little more than monsters, simply slaves to the dragons who ruled over them. Since the dragons declined kobolds have built up societies of their own on the fringes of civilization and have tried to integrate themselves into the world. The one thing that persists is their kleptomaniac nature, anything that they think can be useful will be taken, often these things seem very trivial to us, a pot or a bucket will serve as a helmet to them, a wooden spoon a weapon. While some still hate the kobolds for what their former masters ordered them to do I find it fascinating that these clumsy little buggers have managed to make it on their own." ― Extract from "Sails and Shores", Famed Travelogue of Joan the Balduran.

Kobolds are reptilian humanoids that worship evil dragons as demigods and serve them as minions and toadies. Kobolds inhabit dragons' lairs when they can but more commonly infest dungeons, gathering treasures and trinkets to add to their own tiny hoards. Kobolds are often dismissed as cowardly, foolish, and weak, but these little reptilian creatures actually have a strong social structure that stresses devotion to the tribe, are clever with their hands, and viciously work together in order to overcome their physical limitations.
