Blue Oozing Fever

Disease

This bloodborne disease targets any creature that has blood or organic fluids, thus constructs are immune. While in the grips of this disease, the victim’s appearance changes and their skin takes on a blue hue. At later stages, gashes and oozing wounds form on the victim’s body. Along with the physical transformation caused by the disease comes a mental degradation as described in the stages below. Because of this, some of the inhabitants of Liam’s Hold have begun calling the disease Blue Oozing Fever

The disease in itself isn’t fatal and is contagious at any stage and even prior to showing any symptoms. It can be transmitted via blood and bodily fluids. The disease includes three stages and its symptoms manifest 1d4 weeks after infection. The infected creature cannot be cured until Sef Ka'io is removed from the material plane. Anything that cures disease will temporarily ''cure'' it, but the disease retakes in less than a minute. Whenever that happens, the person can show a brief moment of lucidity, but this doesn’t last. At the end of each Long Rest, an infected creature makes a DC 12 Constitution saving throw. On a successful save, the symptoms do not progress to the next stage. The DC increases by 1 for each subsequent save made this way.

Stages

1- This stage becomes when the victims begin to show symptoms of the disease. Those in the earliest stage of the disease grow lengthened canine teeth and see their skin turn pale. As time passes, their arms and legs lengthen and their spine hunches over. They become more easily irritable and prone to reacting violently. This makes them look as if their body was similar to the one of a werewolf, save for the fur and elongated face, thus the confusion with lycanthropy from some of the commoners.

2- The diseased see their lengthened canine teeth turn into long, brown, dripping fangs and their skin turns to blue and scaly.  The victims of this sickness perceive anyone they don’t know as hostile and attack them on sight.

3-  The now almost completely blue and scaly skin of the afflicted becomes riddled with wounds from which blood seems to be constantly oozing out.  As the alterations progress, those afflicted become increasingly savage and hostile, and can only stand to be around ‘’those like themselves’. They attack anything else on sight. The blood of the afflicted has become highly toxic and those nearby quickly feel nauseated, experience dizziness and/or faint. Thus, any creature that starts its turn in a 10-foot radius from a stage 3 creature must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution Saving Throw or faint and become incapacited for a minute.

Bloodborne Transmission. When any wounded creature comes in contact (touch) with an individual suffering from Blue Oozing Fever that is either wounded or in the third stage of the disease, it must succeed on a DC 17 Constitution saving throw or become infected with the disease. On a successful save, the creature becomes immune to the Bloodborne Transmission ability for the next 24h.
