Argonian

Lizard Beastfolk

Ability Score Increases:

As an Argonian, your constitution is considerable. Your people have endured enslavement under multiple other races, and toxins have been utilized to destroy your people. You have built up durability as a result of this. When you select Argonian as your race, you gain a +2 bonus to your Constitution.

As a Shadowscale Argonian, you have been bred to be an assassin. This has involved separation from others of your kind and you have only known your clutch, or hatch mates, in this life. Separated from the Hist and the rest of your people, you live a lonely life, but with it comes the means for survival. As a Shadowscale, you also gain a +1 to Wis.

As a Naga,  you have been trained to be more of the front line of the Argonian people. You are a defender of the Hist, and with the greatest of trees behind you, you need to be the greatest you can be to defend it. As a Naga, you also gain a +1 to Str.

Languages:

As an Argonian, you can speak, read, and write, Tamrielic, Saxhleel, and one other language of your choice that you and your DM agree is appropriate.

Creature Type/Size:

You are a Medium-sized Humanoid.

Darkvision:

Accustomed to twilit forests and the night sky, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Speed:

Your base movement speed is 30 ft. As an Argonian, you also have a 30 ft. swim speed.

Hold Breath:

As an Argonian, you can hold your breath for 15 minutes.

Hungry Jaws:

You can throw yourself into a feeding frenzy. As a bonus action, you can make a special attack with your Bite. If the attack hits, it deals its normal damage, and you gain temporary hit points equal to your proficiency bonus. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Hist Resilience:

As an action, an Argonian may spend time meditating on the Hist's power that affects all Argonian life and heal from it. Roll a hit die and restore that many hit points. The player may use this ability once per long rest.

Natural Armor:

You have tough, scaly skin. When you aren’t wearing armor, your base AC is 13 + your Dexterity modifier. You can use your natural armor to determine your AC if the armor you wear would leave you with a lower AC. A shield’s benefits apply as normal while you use your natural armor.

Nature's Intuition:

Thanks to your mystical connection with nature, you gain proficiency with two of the following skills, of your choice: Animal Handling, Medicine, Nature, Perception, Stealth, or Survival.
