Guy the Grateful

Legendary Adventurer
Player Character

Guy was the understudy and mentor of Professor Henry Endsworth. Learning a great deal from his father like figure, Guy sought to adventurer the lands of The Sarranid Desert with his companions within The Sunsations. Becoming instrumental to the defeat of the Snake Cult in killing The Great Serpent, Guy quickly made a name for himself within the Emris Adventuring Guild and greater Sarranid Sultanate. Traveling throughout The Badlands, Burned Woods, and later into The Shadowfell, Guy was oftentimes tormented by an otherworldly spirit which threatened his psyche. Fearing the worst in who he truly was, Guy eventually departed from The Sunsations as they slept within a tavern in the City of Evernight. Seeking out his cruel tormentors, he was captured by Erwin the Prideful of the Crimson Hand. Tortured and twisted to their apathetic view of bloodletting and battle, Guy found himself at odds with The Sunsations as he witnessed hordes of demons pouring from the Crimson Hand Fortress from the ramparts, during the events of the Battle of The Four Armies. Realizing his mistake, Guy snapped out of his delusional state and later aided his old friends in defeating Crimson Hand. Guy barely escaped death through a rift opened by the Fell Blade which he wielded, after being mortally wounded by Erwin the Prideful. In the possession of the corrupting Fell Blade which furthered his internal strife, guy barely managed to survive as he found himself lost within the Valley of The Nightwalker before being saved once more by The Sunsations. His internal struggle culminated in Guy's exodus from the Emris Adventuring Guild, searching for the secrets of his past which were lost to him due to his severe memory  loss in his childhood.

The Galavant of Guy

Shariz

Guy's path to redemption reached its pinnacle in a series of emotionally charged events that forever changed the course of his life. The first turning point was his confrontation with Balthazar the Blighted, his own father, in the demonic fortress known as The Crucible. In a moment of profound clarity, Guy chose to forgive the twisted soul that was his father. With a heavy heart, he plunged the Fell Blade into Balthazar, ending his reign of terror and setting countless souls free. This act not only stopped Balthazar's malevolent plans but also marked the beginning of Guy's own liberation from the chains of his past.

The next significant milestone occurred aboard the Train of Lost Souls, a grim locomotive journeying through The Nine Hells. There, Guy was granted a bittersweet reunion with the spirit of his mother, Alana Aefir. Saying their final farewells, Guy felt a weight lifted off his shoulders as her spirit ascended, freed from eternal torment. Finally, upon his return to the mortal realm, Guy experienced a fleeting but powerful vision within the streets of Shariz. He saw the spirits of his High Elf ancestors, who nodded in respect and affirmation, acknowledging the immense journey he had undertaken. This ephemeral moment solidified Guy's redemption, and he returned to the Emris Adventuring Guild not as a tormented soul, but as a hero who had faced his demons—both literal and metaphorical—and emerged triumphant.
