Full Report

The Ashen Hawk, reporting in.

Beth, Lynn, Lanliss, and I set out from Roanokae Camp by way of the Elemental Portal Shrine. Lanliss learned we were heading towards a sacred place for Radiance, and we went north to follow it. Beth knew vaguely the direction, learning it from some vision she had. Soon we met a Unknown: the Sunseller, a creature in avian form that sold all goods of light and darkness. They traded us rare power in exchange for 'sparks'; we all made trades. Lynn upgraded her relic for gold; Lanliss received a special holy symbol in exchange for a favor. I tapped into the power of my cursed arm at the cost of my color, and Beth traded away her ability to relate the colors others see in exchange for the ability to appear as she pleased.

We set off to fulfill the favour of the Sunseller: retrieve a special artifact from a nearby island in a lake. It turned out to be in the custody of one Kiara the Sunkissed, a Unknown Aasimar woman of the the Coalition and the Order of the Aureate Roar. After tense negotiation with her and her two Ibises, we investigate the shrine on this island that should hold the artifact. It turns out to be something of a tomb, larger on the inside than could be seen from the outside thanks to illusiory magic.

Lynn helped us navigate, and the party surmised that we would not take the artifact from this holy site. That is, until I found a locked diary. After unlocking it, I learned the truth: Kiara was not who she said she was. Immediately, the false Kiara set upon us. In the ensuing battle, though Lanliss, Beth, and myself used all our powers at our disposal, Lynn did not. Kiara revealed herself to be a Blood Unknown wearing the true Kiara's skin as a disguise, and she drained Lynn of all her blood, killing her. But I got revenge, and killed the impostor myself.

The three survivors recovered the artifact - a golden amulet set with a blood-red gem in the center - and made peace with the two Ibises, despite their role in Lynn's death. Beth and Lanliss wanted to return the amulet to other members of the Order of the Aureate Roar for its significance to them, so we elected to renege on our deal with the Sunseller and headed towards this Unknown cathedral that Beth knew.
