Amara and Gideon

Session 06
2020-04-20

When the group returns to the outpost for the hunters guild Amara, a wood-elf Monster Hunter sorceress and Gideon, a human Monster hunter, greeted them. Gideon is a man that likes taking up space and is laid back. He smells terribly of mud and for some reason crab. Amara is energetic and small. She immediately excitingly greats the newcomers to their home. Jak o' the Wisp gets very nervous after learning that Gideon has served at the emperor's court and knows who he is, lucky though he knows nothing about his warrant for an arrest. The two Hunters are fascinated by Adrian's recruits and decide that they would like to show them the rope by taking them out on a harmless excursion in the morning.
After having more of Irdien Talvaeth's delicious food, most of the party goes to bed in the barracks. Jak stays up a bit studying books about the city of which there is plenty of useful information, and Adrian stays up even longer working on his silver arrows.
Late at night, Adrian Maulitz asked Gideon and Amara to help him question Jak about the accusations of treason by sneaking up on him in his bed, removing his weapons and pressing a blade against his throat.
The ruckus wakes up the girls sleeping in the same room. Sirona Boyd gets a panic attack seeing the armored people she had assumed meant them well and Labrat immediately tried to help her calm down while Irdien points a crossbow and Gideon.
After some shouting from Sirona and Irdien vouching for Jak and Adrian promptly pressing the bard for information Jak "reveals" that the reason for him having to flee the capital was due to an impotent problem. This amuses Adrian to such an extent that he drops the issue and goes to sleep. Sirona and Labrat evacuate the barrack and find a quiet sheltered corner up on the attic, away from the ominous display of distrust.
In the morning Jak seems unaffected by the assault although he sings a tune about the immaturity or Adrian's course of action.
The group pack up their things and starts marching towards a temple ruin about 3-4 hours out of the city.
There Gideon hands out runes to Sirona, Jak and Irdien while Amara tells the tale of a high priestess in the 11th age that got killed together with her guards when the gods where banished. The Priestess is a Noon-wraith and will be visible when the clock strikes twelve. She has an amulet that bounds her to the ruin. The temple belonged to the goddess Lada, who is Morena's counter self. As Gideon explains this, he reveals that he is a follower of Morena. Sirona and he immediately bond over this piece of information.
As they move into the leftover of the church at the stuck of noon, a guttural cry is heard from the altar.
Jak sneaks up and sees the specter. Sirona follows him, and on Jak's suggestions Sirona tried to say a prayer. Unfortunately, its a prayer for Morena and the phantom does not appreciate that, latching out at the cleric. Irdien tries shooting it with her crossbow after enhancing it with her rune, making it leave smoky black trails in the air. She doesn't hit. Adrian also tried to shot, aiming for the amulet around the Priestess's neck, but his shot misses as well. Ghost of guards starts emerging to assist their attacked Priestess. Sirona managed to strike one of the guards while held in place by the wraiths ear-piercing cry. Jak Pulls out his lute and sends a wave of music, just like he did on the night at the cultist mansion and blasts the Priestess into smoke, leaving the necklace behind on the ground. Gideon and Amara immediately congratulate the group on their work and take the jewellery as prof of a fulfilled contract.
