PC Post - Ragnov Ironside

Location: Hawthorne’s Pride

Ragnov and Angela grabbed all of their belongings and left the village. On our way out, they flagged a carriage for a ride to the capital of Hawthorne. The driver’s nodded as he pulled over and heard where they wanted him to take them.

"That'll be 50 gold!"

Ragnov looked at him. "Look I'm not really in the mood to pay a coachman like you." He grabbed his punch dagger slowly.  The driver looked at the dagger and looked at Ragnov, instantly sweating.

"No need to get physical. It just you’re asking me to take you a great distance."

Angela glanced at Ragnov and pushed past him. She tossed a satchel of coins to the driver.

“That’ll cover your expenses and then some.”

The driver, feeling the weight nodded and stared ahead. The pair climbed onto the carriage and Angela whispered, "Why did you have to threaten him."

"Because we need to leave and if it's a ransom I might have to offer as much gold as possible.”

She nodded and still frowned at him. With them on, the driver got them moving. They traveled all day, only stopping to rest and water the horses. That night, they stopped at a way station, but left before dawn. They arrived before the noon hour at the capital and the driver took them straight to Ragnov’s father’s home. From the outside, everything looked fine. Stepping inside, everything was intact and Ragnov looked confused.

“My brother must be at his store.”

Angela nodded and the pair made their way there. As expected, they found Sidgured Ironside in the back at his desk. Seeing the pair walk in he rose and clasped forearms with Ragnov.

“I am glad you returned so quickly.”

Angela smiled at him, “Where is Ragnfrid and what happened to him?”

Sidgured looked at her then back to Ragnov. “Father had returned from a job and reported to the guild. He collected his due and headed home. From what the city watch has told me, they found him in an alleyway about two blocks from his home. They can find nothing wrong with him physically, but a priest says there is some form of magic at work against him.

“The guild will tell me nothing of his last job and claim they know nothing of what it is that could be causing his ailment. The priest says we have perhaps days to find the cause so it can be treated or stopped or he will die. I am hoping you can get something from the guild because they will not tell me a thing.”
