The castle has been notably expanded since its initial construction at the end of 1A, but its heart remains a thatched manor house surrounded by earthen walls built to repel Drakes despite the various extensions and additions attached to it over the years. The building as a result carries a feel of being both grand and impressive and at the same time quaint and homely. The house itself has been whitewashed and fireproofed after a failed attempt to burn it down by Elven bandits. The castle has a large stables, which houses the horses of Orla's personal cadre of knights. This force is immensely skilled and an extravagant expense, which alone exceeds the Barony’s tax revenues. It is paid from the Black Dragon’s vast treasure horde.
The castle is staffed by loyal guards, servants and maid such as Peridot and Dixie Flemingbottom.
