Allegra

Lady of Orchestration and Music
Deity

"Music is not just strings of sounds and voices. It is a language that we all subconsciously know, that we all understand. And through me you will conduct a symphony; through you I will touch the minds of a thousand people. Through your voice, I will sing alongside you like a timeless chorus all throughout the corners of the earth.

Legend has it that Allegra was once born in the Flameveil Kingdom of the Plane of Fire, where her father was a composer and conductor of the church. All the pieces he written specifically for the church, they were all kept secret for the written music was holy.

It is said that Allegra could write down any piece played in history, and her first was Ale ‘Mirioso, a piece that was kept hidden in the church and became famous for everyone to hear. Months later, the king once praised her musical talents and awarded her. She became a court composer years later, having the opportunity to work in different genres, including symphonies, sonatas, string quartets, masses, serenades, and a few minor operas.

In her final years, she became deaf and unable to hear anything that she could compose. But thankfully, the years of experience composing and Allegra's natural affinity with pitches made it somewhat bearable to compose music. However, the loss of hearing drove her depressed, and even as one of the best composers she could not conduct.

As an Arisen, the pieces Allegra transcribes she keeps in her library and archives them for her own future use. Not for the purposes of performing them but to hear them in her mind, to revere music that has been created. Music is her life and her blood, and without it she would hear a deafening silence that would plague her like it did in her final years as a mortal.

Allegra’s followers devote themselves to the creation and performance of art through music. Often she serves as inspiration not only to her followers but to all who pursue music. Allegra can be considered the muse to their ideas, and she would whisper not words but motifs.

Depiction

Allegra manifests her flameveil form, a woman of orange hair and eyes that both burn with a fiery passion. Her clothes differ but she often wears a dress of mirror-like scales that reflects the fires of the flameveil kingdom. It is said that when she speaks, she does it in Sprechgesang, known as “spoken singing.”

With her always is a conductor baton, held in her right hand as she “conducts” and hums pieces that were written in the present and in the past, and ideas that can be used in the future.

Enemies

Her main enemy is Archon due to the practices of capitalism in the music industry. She believes that the industry has muddled music, making them all sound alike rather than being unique. Inspiration is almost impossible in that industry. Though, she commends those musicians in the industry who are creative and unique from all others, or at least try to.

Commandments of Allegra:

  • Let others be your inspiration, and inspire them as well. Do not fight over music, but instead become as one and let your voice be heard by all.
  • Even music has rests. Do not overwork yourself to become the best or to write a magnum opus. Ideas come over time.
  • Be confident but do not be arrogant. Be humble but do not be shy of your work.
