Viricon features a huge archive from the days of the Old Empire's height. The city itself is built around the caldera of a long-extinct volcano, and is known for its delicious cuisine. The architecture is all ancient. The wear of centuries is visible almost everywhere. Enchantment laid a millennium ago sometimes flicker off briefly, revealing that at least some of the better preserved architecture is, and always has been, partially illusory.

Unfortunately, it is afflicted by corrupt officials, making the bureaucracy of the city slow and inefficient. Despite this, Viricon remains the capital of modern Nerath, though it is a pale shadow of its former glory. Still, Nerath's position at the heart of the continent makes it a trading hub, nearly all of which still finds its way through Viricon.
