The oldest religious structure in the entire world, the Henge was erected prior to the First Age and is constructed from 150 gargantuan bluestone slabs arranged in three concentric circles, the largest of which has a diameter of nearly three quarters of a mile, around a central mound topped with a fourth circle of stones and a gargantuan oak tree with silver leaves and surrounded by a wide circular earthwork with a gap that faces due north. This location is regarded as sacred ground the world over as it is the traditional resting place of Orth's greatest heroes. To be buried here is considered one of the greatest honours imaginable.

Notable Incumbents: Among its incumbents include about three dozen of these legendary heroes amongst heroes, but the three most prominent sit atop the mound.

  • Marked by a gold crown on a pole is the grave of The First Being, the first sentient living creature on Orth, father of the Troll race and founder of the Imperial Troll Empire. It is situated on the South East side of the mound as to face the Home Islands.
  • Marked by the holy sword Fragarach embedded into an anvil is the grave of King Virion I of House Quinnlee, the legendary hero king who unified the warring Elven Houses into the single nation of Tir, transformed the village of Caislean into one of the finest cities in the world and made colossal strides towards peace only to have it brought crashing down by the paranoia of his successors. He is buried on the East side of the mound, as to both face Caislean and be illuminated by every sunrise of the summer solstice, as per his wishes.
  • Marked by the oak tree with silver leaves is the apparent grave of the god Herne, the firstborn son of the nature goddess Leannan and her consort Marduk and father of the entire Fae race who created the Fae Isle itself, brought knowledge and guidance to all who truly needed it, dedicated his life to being a light for those plagued by darkness and then gave it willingly and knowingly to save millions by ending the Imperial Wars. He is directly under the tree (as it actually grew from his body) at the very top of the mound, so the tree points towards the heavens.
