Xil Wrenlow

This character is dead.
Player Character

Early Life

Xil was born to Yrra and Xyric Wrenlow. Low ranking members of a branch of no importance. The Wrenlow family is an ancient family which traces their lineage back to the first Wood Elves when they broke away from the High Elves. The Wrenlow family is directly descended from the Immortal Governor of The Grand City of Mor'Koc, but he rarely takes an interest in the day-to-day matters of the family.

Xil's magic talent and intelligence was recognised at an early age. He was formally summoned in front of the Patriarch and bound to the Empire's service under the watchful gaze of the the city officials.

As a child Xil studied music learning to play the flute, drums and lute. He grew into his teens, playing music with a group of like-minded nobles for the admiration of the court's womenfolk.

TBA

When Xil turned 23, his father Xyric fell out of favour in the royal court and was banished to the colonies. His mother, Yrra, fell into depression and Xil found himself unwelcome with those his own age. He turned to the TBA, not at the respected headquarters where his father had served, but an investigator assigned to P'Lar village. Two years tracking secrets, checking paperwork and performing administrative duties passed before Xil returned to Mor'Koc summoned by the family.

Scouts

Xil was ordered to join the Scouts and lacking the means to stand on his own two feet, he complied with this duty. The scouts were easily located, based in the same forest as they were founded during the siege of Mor'Koc. It was here, Xil met Tierra Treeheart, and along side the unwashed slum Catfolk and nimble Elves, he was first exposed to blood. A grizzled veteran yelled at Xil as he flailed attempting to stab a goat before seizing the knife and spraying him with blood and washing away the boyhood innocence he had enjoyed.

For ten years, Xil endured the scouts saving his money for when he could leave. It was in this time, he learnt the spell Find Familiar which lead him to a young Oak sapling. From this small trace of life appeared Blanca, a Dryad girl with an appearance of six or seven. With a promise of friendship and never control, the two were bound together and Xil dug up the tree carrying it with him.

Now trained, Xil was called before his Patron and given a choice, “Would he help his Empire? Or would he be banished to the colonies?”

It was when Xil was attempting to leave the city, he stopped by a Stable Master to buy a horse that his Dryad jumped down from his shoulder and ran to a cow on it's way to slaughter. He tried to drag her away, explaining cows were not horses, but she began to cry and her leaves turned yellow as she stomped her tiny feet. A confused farmer received the cost of a good warhorse and Xil left Mor'Koc for the city state of Ja'Pa. This cow is now known as Unknown.

Present

Xil was transferred to Central Troll Intelligence (CTI) and charged with routing out foreign influences within the colonies. Having been exposed to blood magic during his time in P'Lar, Xil was quickly able to assist imperial forces in Na'Ka'Ve and prevent Manzil forces from establishing a base within the city. He used his skills as an investigator and knowledge of Imperial paperwork to track money through the system, before persuading the local black-market to give up their employer.

Off the back of his success, Xil was sent to the investigate rumours of increased Orc activity and report the results back to the CTI. If possible, he should prevent harm to the Empire and weaken it's enemies to prevent them becoming a threat.

During the events of A Gathering Storm, it is revealed he was previously dating Liya-mawezawezi-wibeti in Na'Ka'Ve.

During the campaign, Xil enters a sexual relationship with Moirin Mhic Macdha, who later tells him of the Shadowborn Prophecy, that the Empire would be burnt by a Greenskin born during a double solar eclipse, namely Zibrust. Believing her, Xil challenges Zibrust after his duel with Afzal Jabbar, and kills him. However, this unknowingly leads to the prophecy being fulfilled, as Zibrust's twin Wretch "Shadowborn" is the true Shadowborn, and swears to burnt the Empire. Moirin is later revealed to have deliberately tricked Xil here, to claim vengeance against the Empire for Caislean. Wretch kills Xil with his fire magic, and the corpse is left behind in the shadow of Stubborn Rock.

Equipment

At the start of A Gathering Storm, Xil has a Snow Sled pulled by Unknown. It is packed with multiple important items for adventuring including a Ladder, ShovelWaterskins, Blankets and a Tent.
