Blue Wrath (disease)

Disease

A disease or curse native to Rosemore Island. When a living creature is afflicted, they gain headaches until reaching the point of eternal rage, where they become violent towards most things and ooze a blue ichor.

The Blue Wrath is sourced from A Unique Spell found in one of the Set of Spell Lattices from Sanctum Alpha (The Clouded Facility).

The disease can be cured through Woodsworth Moure, using the power of the idol to cast Remove Disease. It is possible to recover from the disease naturally.

Small clockwork creatures burrow into the heads of the departed from this rage, and control their bodies like marionettes.

Here is what is known about this ailment:

> You do not need to be bitten by a creature with this ailment to start becoming irritable and gaining a headache.

> Effects manifest as headaches and bitterness, ultimately resulting in a more raged-state to a point where friend and foe become blurred.

> Meat from infected creatures may be a vector, and magics such as Purify Food and Drink may be ineffective at removing this disease.

> Age is not discriminatory on this ailment, as young goats were witnessed to be sluggish, dazed, yet so aggressive that Cleis Frostclaw almost died from a single crunch.

> Rest seems to be a vector for recovering from this ailment.

> This ailment is not MIGHT BE airborne - subjects on this island who have been here for half a year have not reported any signs of headaches or irritability, yet just a few days traveling with our group using food supplies obtained from Blue Wrath-tainted animals, irritability began to settle in. Caduceus gained the sickness despite sustaining no damage from the "Undead" creatures in the fog.

> Lesser Restoration has had a moderate effect on infected subjects.

> On an infected young goat's corpse, Bird Face witnessed a small "unbleeding" scarab burrow out of the creature's skull and scamper off. This has not been witnessed with other infected creatures - even ones that were purposefully studied or mutilated.

> The disease can affect those who are normally vulnerable to healing magics, such as Fae Wight

> Subjects that have died, but were infected, seem to retain the disease when manipulated by a Parasitic Clockwork Bug

> The disease may have generated from a thick fog pouring out of a cave where the crew of The Former Wreck of The Discovery first broke into

Proposed research opportunities:

> Charm Animal on an infected creature, then study it.

> Attempt Lesser Restoration or Remove Disease on the infected subject. RESOUNDING SUCCESS: Remove Disease works

> See if headaches or irritability persist while not consuming any products that come from infected creatures (They do not seem to).

> Investigate The Deadly Cave on Rosemore Island to see if that is actively producing a disease-ridden fog. Come back and check out the cave when we can handle Undead easier.
