Fae Wight

Wandering Wastrel
Player Character

Fae is a wanderer of obscure origins who seeks to both do good in the world, and find answers to her cursed fate.

Fae was just a simple village girl that had ambitions to be a hero some day just like the ones in her stories. She and her best friend Ashpa eventually ran away seeking adventure, but were woefully under-prepared.

They found themselves hopelessly lost and soon captured, brought before a The Lich, and imprisoned to be used in necromantic experiments.

When all hope was lost, The Sorcerer came to their rescue and challenged the lich in single combat. The sorcerer bested the lich and then the unexpected happened: The Lich's Phylactery exploded, engulfing all in a shower of negative magical energies.

Fae awoke some time later in the lich's lair, a pile of ashes where the lich once stood; her friend and the sorcerer nowhere to be found.

It was then she discovered her fate. The dark energies of the phylactery had left her in a half undead state; the negative energy plane tugged at her soul, and her life had been forever changed.

Fae has wandered the world since then, trying to do good while searching for her lost friend and unknown savior.

After resurrecting Waking Bittercress and learning of the party's plan to confront Harold at the Howling Jaws, Fae and Ashpa decided to split ways with the party, heading off the parts unknown.

A Farewell Letter

"The envelope is small and plain. "Woodsworth" is written on it, and though perfectly legible the ink is smudged in places from tears."

Dear Woodsworth,

By the time you read this letter you'll have no doubt noticed that me and Ashpa are missing. And you might find this decision rash, but we have chosen to sever ties with Fortune's Vanguard and go our separate way. Please do not try and find us, any moment you spend near us puts you and the others in danger. We have spent so much time together, and have had each others' backs more than once. However you have always been there to pull me back from the brink. You've protected me again and again, and now it is my turn to protect you. If we're not with you, Harold has no reason to continue hunting Fortune's Vanguard. He's after Ashpa, and I'd sooner die than let him have her, but I can no longer endanger you and the others by continuing to harbor her. We will be traveling further inland, I have some hunches on where we can find information to hopefully cure our conditions, but I currently do not think those answers lie out on the sea. Perhaps if luck is on our side, we'll see each other again. Until that time, look out for the others. You can always contact us if you need us, we're never truly apart. Please stay alive, Woodsworth, I love you.

Fae's Research Notes

Crystalizer Experiments 01

I've decided to see if I could change what the crystalizer produces by focusing on a desire while feeding objects into it. so far I can consistently make a substance that certainly seems like blood, though until I make a full bottle Ashpa cannot say whether it sates her need.

Dropped in some of Ifany's leaves -> made a droplet of blood

Dropped in a silver piece -> a more significant portion of blood

dropped in 2 silver pieces -> more blood

Dropped big chunk of wood in -> droplet of blood

Dropped in gold piece -> 1/10 a bottle of blood

"underwelming tasting, but could be from the volume"
