The party investigated the outpost of the Drow, finding information about where the party of adventurers before them had been headed. They continued into the tunnels, where Loric fell prey to the mental force of a nest of Cranium Rats, being briefly dominated by them. Dispatching the rats, they found a geode cave where they discovered a quartz lantern of Dwarven design. Continuing deeper into the Underdark, they came across an ambush set by the surviving Drow from the outpost. They cleared the way and ventured further into the tunnels, eventually finding the Dwarven Stronghold. Inside, they discovered an undead horde with a Tyrant of Death at its head. They managed to dispatch the skeletal beholder and its death knights, clearing the way to explore the Stronghold.
