Nargun was a man-like creature of stone made by Barraiya to aid the First Ankic Empire in creating its first cities. However, the golem gained a will of its own and taught mankind many secrets of the gods; metalworking, medicine, architecture, irrigation, animal husbandry, law, writing, etc. Perhaps more impressive were the things they made with their own hands; wondrous armours and weapons of bronze, gigantic machines of wood and rope, city walls reaching out to heaven; and these were only the ones mankind could comprehend. Stories tell of horizontal bows which could shoot lightning, bubbles which no spear could pierce and star-tipped arrows which could incinerate vast tracts of land for humanity to cultivate.

Barraiya was very proud of mankind's and Nargun's works, but could not let his creation go unpunished for going against explicit orders. He took life from stone, rendering Nargun nothing more that one pile of boulders amongst many. Humanity, for its part, was allowed to keep the knowledge and creations of the golem. But their soul was released rather than destroyed and now roams the Earth, said to ocassionally whisper words into the ears of the inventive, causing them to yell "Eureka!".

Though as a non-god they cannot be the patron of any social group, Nargun's spirit is said to always inspire engineers, artisans, architects, inventors, jurists and scientists of all types into reaching their desired discovery or creation.
