Literally meaning "First Folk" or "First Elves," the Aldmer were the original Elven race, the Aldmer came from a continent in the south-eastern hemisphere of Nirn called Aldmeris. During the Merethic, or Mythic, Era, a sociological and magical schism occurred. The Aldmer ceased to be, as groupings of the Aldmer evolved new appearances and beliefs, and left Aldmeris to make homes in other parts of Nirn, mainly the continent of Tamriel.
