Tower of the Infernal Finders

Tower

Those new to the Tower can find the way the Office dresses creates a strange impression within the tower. Namely that they all wear masks without faces, instead they contain abstract patterns. These peer out from thick large, flowing white robes with large hoods. It is hard to tell who anyone is under such a uniform, information like age and gender tends to disappear. Individuals are discernible only by their rough form and the patterns on their masks, each of which is different.

The effect of their uniform is somewhat heightened by their profession which is routing out heresy, illegal technology and infernal magic and its users.

The lower floors serve as the housing for the order. All of the ranks sleep on the lowest floors with little to distinguish their accommodations in terms of status or style. The office rather promotes a fairly aesthetic lifestyle to its adherents. They live simple lives with few possessions. One strange feature of the rooms is their vertical sleeping chambers. These are like a hightech bed that encases you standing upright. It is said to be used as a symbol that the office is always 'standing guard' against the infernal foes of the Bond but in reality many believe that the cocktail of gases pumped into the chamber while the officers sleep contain chemicals that when received through long exposure start to strip the officers of their humanity making them more obedient and less squeamish about the more sinister aspects of their work. The nature of their profession means that they often shunned by members of the other offices and rarely mix outside their own.

The floors above that are given over to the Chambers of Truth. This is where the office gets heretics to confess their true beliefs. It is in effect a series of high tech torture chambers. The cries of agony can be heard outside the tower and are occasionally referred to as the 'bells of the tower' in a display of pitch black humour.

The highest part of the tower contains the Infernal Library. Which houses ancient manuscripts that refer to heretical beliefs, banned sciences and magical practices. It is heavily guarded and access is restricted to the Head of the Office and their immediate senior staff.
