Noelani Kaimana

Fog Piercer's First Mate
Player Character

Born to a family of well-off merchants in Calindra, Noelani Kaimana didn't experience many of the typical struggles of the common person in Aranor. Instead, she had to cause her own problems with a temper that flared quickly and the constitution to never back down from a fight. Despite her parents numerous attempts to fix this reckless behavior, they were unsuccessful at controlling their wild daughter, before realizing she had access to a more primal power than simple anger. Believing her to be a lost cause in the family business, Noelani was sent away from home on her seventeenth birthday to work on a trading ship captained by an Aasimar named Evron. Despite the introduction featuring some rather snide comments, he smiled and welcomed her to his crew, The Fog Piercers, with a promise to teach her the ways of the goddess Nossa and the ever growing mysteries of the sea.

Sailing across the Thunder Sea under the guidance of her enigmatic captain, she at first worked with indifference and even a bit of spite, but slowly began to enjoy her new maritime lifestyle. Evron kept the ship running smoothly at all times, taking spare times to play cards with the crew, even teaching Noelani enough Celestial for the one in a million chance she would meet another Aasimar, or even less likely a Divine Entity. Learning to channel her rage, Noelani only allowed herself to lose control when the ship was in danger, finally putting her experience in scraps to use for something productive. After about a year, she wrote a letter to her family declaring her intent to pursue sailing full-time. One day, she would sail the sea on her own ship, with her own crew, and perhaps even with a quelled temper.

As she prepared to give her life in righteous fury, she felt a familiar hand on her shoulder. "You'll find me Noelani, here or somewhere else." With that singular sentence, Evron handed her his precious spyglass and pushed her overboard. Everything faded to black. She washed up on the Eastern shore of the Golden Coast, starving and dehydrated. Using some of the skills she had picked up from her various fallen crewmates, working she was able to find Al-Jisar before succumbing to the elements. Reeling from the pain, both physical and emotional, Ahmun Thundershield provided an out, a way to get back on her feet. She would snatch it without questioning.
