Childhood

An only child, born to parents late in their life. Grew up around Blackwater harbour, always on and off the boats, in good humour with the sailors.
As a teenager bought an old Keelboat with best friend Barton Stacey. They would go out every evening looking for mermaids. Stacey was lost overboard when out alone one evening hunting mermaids, the boat was found empty and Stacey presumed dead. L remains hopeful of Stacey's survival yet suspicious of Merfolk.
