This day dedicated to Thylea herself where oaths are renewed or forgiven in honour of the renewing of the year and Thylea’s power. Nobility/Royalty will hold ceremonies renewing their vassals’ oaths or gifting land and freedom to them, couples will re-swear their marriage vows or agree to end them etc. Midday is generally the grand large-scale oath ceremonies, the evening is dedicated to smaller loving groups renewing their faith in one another.

When the Dragonlord Calendar was introduced this day was taken to also celebrate the arrival of the Dragonlords not just being the first day of the year. This part is mainly celebrated among the settler races for obvious reasons. Children fly colourful yellow kites to symbolise the dragons all across Thylea and engage in kite running competitions.

There's no mistaking the short, winged, birdlike figure of an Aarokocra; ruffled dark grey feathers mottled with patches and smears of copper adorn the wings, head, chest, and bare arms of what seems to be a bright eyed, adolescent birdfolk.

Clothed lightly with only leather and cloth straps on the chest and cloth trousers, the only possessions that are carried seem to be at the figure's sides - a thick book and a small satchel. Standing at just under 5 feet, his head darts as he nervously scans the environment, clearly out of place in this new land.

Stimfay are clockwork birds of prey that are created by and used by the Amazons for a variety of things from stalking quarry, messaging one another, combat support and even administrating aid to the fallen. Every huntress learns to build and repair these mechanical birds when they are young, often forming deep and lasting bonds with the strange creatures. Stimfay come in a variety of shapes, although always avian. The most common forms seen are eagle, harrier, hawk, kite, osprey, and owls but more forms abound even ones as exotic as an archaeopteryx. They can comprehend instructions in any language but only respond in a series of clicks and squawks that only Amazons seem to understand. No matter the chosen form they always have a keen sight that allows them to be master scouts.

How the stimfay was created has been lost in time, with only the High Amazon priestess being allowed to know about such matters. What little that has been gleaned by observation is that a stimfay needs an Amazon to activate it and it will immediately bond to that Amazon alone. Euryale, noted wizard, noticed a powerful beam of magic emenating from the clockwork bird into the skies when witnessing Aella, The Whirlwind activating hers. She surmised that it was some sort of communication spell but could not desipher the destination.

The common form of stimfay have a variety of functions. Amongst their arsenal of weapons most notably are the sharp talons that can pierce armour with ease. An enemy is struck by them from all angles making them incapable of launching a counterattack. Additionally, they can launch metallic feathers from theor body as a stealthy ranged attack or even emit a piercing screech that can deafen an opponent. Another important function of the stimfay is their healing capabilities. If an ally has been grievously wounded and bleeding out it can deploy a mist that can stabilise them, thus avoiding death. For more concentrated healing they also have a holder where a single potion (Typically a healing poultice) can be placed. The Stimfay is then able to administrate the potion to a willing or unconscious creature.

Finally, stimfay seem to be upgradable. There have been tales of Stimfay strong enough to allow an Amazon to glide for a short distance, others equiped with grappling hooks and even heavily armoured versions that can withstand a warriors blade. To the reader I say beware, for if you see one or more such cretures, The Amazons are never far behind.

The Five Gods are widely elebrated as the settlers’ favored gods. With the exception of Mytros, they are not heaven-dwelling deities but familiar faces who walk among their people. They have been known to take mortal husbands and wives, rule over cities, and sire demi-god children. They helped The Order of the Dragonlords and the mortal races to defeat Sydon and Lutheria during the First War.

For centuries, they have blessed the mortal races, protecting them from tyrannical domination by Sydon and Lutheria. Shrines to the Five gods can be found in nearly every settler household. Prayers to the Five must be accompanied by the sign against the evil eye to ward off the jealous gaze of the Twin Titans.

Praxys is the dwelling place of Sydon, the Lord of Storms. It is a great tower of stone, which stands atop a headland of limestone. Sydon’s  tower projects a piercing ray of light which can be seen from miles away as it sweeps the ocean, searching for trespassers. No one knows where it is located.

Bellerophon was aproached by Praxos and Tryntia  while The Heroes of Thylea were exploring the The Golden Heart. He spoke into their minds asking if they had done evil and Tryntia stepped back. Coming closer to Praxos he showed him the good deeds he had done in the past being perverted and causing bad luck to the people he hlped equivelant with the boon he had given them, sometimes excheeding it. He said that Praxos was a good man but something had taken his influence and warped it. Bellerophon, as a pegasus, was affronted by such a deed and asked if Praxos would accept his aid. Once he received an affirmative the Pegasus was bonded to Praxos and was able to let him fly on his back.

The cyclopes are a primordial race of giants descended from godlike beings. Their ancient ancestors were great soldiers, smiths, and builders. Today, most cyclopes are only a pale reflection of their ancestors. They can vary in size, in intellect, and in the number of arms or fingers that they have, but one feature is always the same—a single great eye under their brow, instead of two.

Look at the Blemys, Gygan and Jancan races for more information.

Sometimes called Gloom Hounds or Hounds of Hades, these three-headed creatures are bred to be the ultimate guardians. Very few creatures can successfully sneak past a cerebus hound that guards a doorway or treasure.

Cerberus hounds take pride in sniffing out and devouring trespassers. Once they have been set to guard something, they never tire of their charge, even should hundreds of years pass without incident. Most hounds keep piles of their victims' bones as beloved trophies to gnaw on. Although the hound does require sleep, it rarely succumbs to the urge, and only one of its heads sleeps at any given time.
