Ancestors of Adamant

Religious Order of the Dwarven Clans

A holy order of Dwarven Mage Monks, whose origins lie in the protection of miners in the depths of the Underholm. The current surroundings of the order may have changed, with its Brothers walking the cities of the surface as well as below ground; however the order has held fast against changing influence for over 5 ages.

The faith is characterised by reverance for the Dwarven aspect of Perun, whom is known to the Dwarrowfolk as Moradin. A harsh but fair judge, he is described as strength and force of will embodied.

As inspired by his example, the Order stives to promote dwarven inventions and ccreativity, encouraging their good nature, intelligence, and harmonious existence with other good races while battling their pride and isolationist tendencies.

Clad in monotonal robes, depicting both their rank and that the sworn brother has abandoned the life of darkness and ignorance. The levels of rank are: Black, Brown, Grey, Silver and Adamantine Blue.

As is carved in the bedrock of the Great Orm, the original birthstone of the Order, the Ten Tenamenets list the restrictions and responsibilities of Sworn Brothers, or Sonnlinor as they are known in Dwarfish.

Strangely, their motto, or at least the motto that is visible on all items, tools or weapons owned or forged by the Order are inscribed in Elvish: Mors et vita in manibus lingue. That is to say: 'Life and death are in the power of the tongue.'

These Adamantinians travel the world, cleansing it of Necromancy, demonic summoning and protecting all in need. They play an active role in guiding the morals of dwarven communities; by emphasizing his hand in everyday dwarven activities such as mining, smithing, and engineering, and invoked his blessing when these tasks began.

Moradin's holy day is on the crescent moon before an equinox, a day of feasting in the Great Orm, where any and all can recieve hospitality in the name of Moradin.
