A relatively young Thri-Kreen somehow separated from its clutch before it had even hatched. It was picked up and raised by Sid from a hatchling despite the protests of some from the other members of the elven tribe. Partially out of an instinctual knowledge that elves are "prey" but more out of loyalty and gratitude to Sid, Tak took it on himself to defend this long-lived being and the rest of its soft-skinned pack from those who would seek to harm them. Though Tak has been told about others of its kind and feels the ancestral connection that many Thri-Kreen feel, it has started to learn to distinguish instinct from will.
Though relatively content with the natural chaos of the desert, Tak is always looking for another opportunity to prove itself. Now that Sid is preparing to face off against powerful enemies, it is time for Tak to also go and test itself. Away from the pack for the first time in its life with an impulse for glory, this will be a true test of his newly discovered will.
