Sovereign of the Sea, Storms and Seafaring Njord has been a prominent deity in Mantea since the end of the Primordial Era when the old elemental gods tansitioned power to the gods of mortals. The world holds a special place in his portfolio due to the unqiue configuration of landmasses resulting in the massive Outer Sea. In the Anastorian Period (AN), the largest center of Njord's worship is basedin Artoverke, though his temples can be found in most of the nations with coastlines on the Outersea.  Sailors, merchants and fishermen are the most common devotee's, and while his worship has such a long history in the realm, many of the devotions, prayers and rituals are considered to be basic superstitions by many non-believers.

While he holds dominion over Storms in Mantea, he is most often beseached for the calming of storms for the benefit of seafaring faithful, though select priests and paladins are known as Stormbringers, accessing his power for more overt displays of power.
