Glissando

Artifact

Wondrous item, instrument, artifact (requires attunement by a bard)

Sentience. Glissando is a sentient neutral good harp with an Intelligence of 8, a Wisdom of 6, and a Charisma of 22. It has hearing and darkvision out to a range of 60 feet and can communicate telepathically with the creature that is attuned to it, as long as that creature understands at least one language.

Personality. Glissando is an incredibly vain creature, convinced of its own magnificence and beauty. It pushes its wielder to seize the limelight and abhors the idea of hiding its glory. It has very high standards for any seeking to play it and will allow only those musicians it deems worthy to harness its magical power.
A creature that attempts to play Glissando without being attuned to it or without it or its wielder’s consent must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or take 2d4 psychic damage.

Dormant. Glissando grants the following benefits in its dormant state:

  • You gain a +1 bonus to spell attack rolls and to the saving throw DC of your bard spells.
  • You know and can cast mending as an action.
  • Using Glissando, you can use an action to cast one of the following spells: enlarge/reduce, magic weapon, or Tenser’s floating disk. Once a spell has been cast, Glissando can't be used to cast that spell again until the next dawn.
  • If you are a bard in the College of Creation subclass, you also gain the following benefits:
    • Enhanced Performance of Creation. The maximum GP value of the item you can create is doubled, as is the number of hours it lasts.
    • Enhanced Dancing Item. If you are a College of Creation bard of Level 6 or higher, you can use Glissando’s Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma for the statistics of the Dancing Items you create.
