Fragment of Creation (Octahedral Crystallizer)

Artifact

A octahedron, made of crystal and etched with runes along the edges, half a meter long and wide.

It hovers inside of a onyx frame, rotating counter clockwise.

It is capable of destroying items put inside, and creating new ones from the destroyed's value.

Shortly after being discovered, this device was slotted atop a more complex combination of devices:

  • A Crescent Moon with a slidable gauge (seems to control output from container)
  • A pipe that would take the expelled gas from the box and pull it away.
  • A mount for slotting a stylized cube onto. (This seemed to change what was created by the device)
  • A hopper (for automatically adding gemstones)

Some experiments were completed using this device.

  1. The device with nothing slotted into the mount. At the time, the central octahedron and onyx frame had a thick swirling Blue Fog inside of it. Cleis Frostclaw reached into the frame to grab the suspended octahedron. Upon connection, Clei's hand and forearm upto the edge of the frame was disintegrated, turning into an onyx gemstone on the ground underneath it.
  2. The device with nothing slotted into the mount. The frame was still filled with Blue Fog. A glass container containing the blue fog was thrown into the box. The container did not shatter upon making contact with the cube, but instead was disintegrated with the fog. This removed all the of fog inside of the fox, converting it into a larger gem.
  3. When the box is empty, and a Gemstone is added to it, it produces fog based on the Cube that is configured. Several cubes were tested. Each cube created a different color. One cube did not do anything except change the gem from one kind to another.
  4. After draining The Discovery of water with the Octahedral Crystallizer itself, Bird Face collected the resulting sand, and found it to compose of unidentified gemstone dust, and iron dust.

This seems to interface with any cube from the  Set of Spell Lattices by ways of some mount linked into the onyx frame.

Legend lore was cast on it once, see Legends of the Fragment of Creation

 It weighs 25 lbs.

One was presumed to be in Sanctum Omega but is missing.
