General Description
True Dragons are arguably the most powerful creatures alive on Oerth today. Ancient, massive, immune to the ravages of time and capable of both flight and breathing pure elemental force, True Dragons are rightly feared by the general populace. They used to be far more numerous than they are now, but centuries of infighting and of adventurers whittling down their numbers have driven these gigantic beasts largely into hiding.

General Behaviour
Most True Dragons are greedy, cunning, selfish, callous and couldn't care less about any collateral damage they cause so long as they get what they’re aiming for, be it food, gold, mates or just the sheer pleasure of destruction or toying with what they consider “lesser beings”. It should be noted though that this doesn't mean all True Dragons are evil. They are simply guided mostly by raw primal desires, but ultimately their ability to do good or evil is just as much dependent on the individual as it is with their base nature, just as it is with every other sentient being.

Metallic Dragons
Within the True Dragons there are also two subdivisions - Chromatics, which are the usual, and Metallics which are caused by a rare mutation which makes the Dragon far less aggressive but much more intelligent.

Fighting True Dragons
The very strong scales of a True Dragon and their extremely powerful abilities can make it very hard to defend against. However, their scales aren’t strong enough to stop heavy weaponry like ballistae or scorpions and with heavy enough impact can be dislodged, leaving openings in their defence. Their underbellies are also notably less tough, meaning that they can be pierced by pikes, javelins or war bows. It is recommended to ground the Dragon with chains and grapples or with multiple shots to the wings, then attack with polearms, or, as previously mentioned, piercing siege weapons like ballistae or scorpions from a distance.
