Community Vote May 2020

Dear Subscribers,

This is the first community vote in the Kanka app. As always, we expect a few hiccups here and there, but we should have covered 90% of use cases we could think of. As they stand, community votes mimic the feature we had over on Patreon. More options will be implemented in the future.

Now with that out of the way, this community vote will also be a bit different. As announced previously, I've quit my full time job to focus on Kanka 100% starting in June! Which means that this is the last community vote where I don't know in advance how much time I have to focus on the app. In light of this, the options will be a bit more open ended, as we might end up with another community vote just for June.

I also want to keep this vote a bit smaller in scope. As mentioned over in the Discord, we're hitting over 100 users at the same time during the weekends now, which is incredible, but means the servers are starting to feel sluggish again at peak times. This means I'd like to dedicate some time in May to improving the app's performance during peak times.

Your options are as follow:

• Boosted Campaigns: give more options to boosted campaigns (for example default entity images, and showing the entity image in tooltips)
• Dashboard: add more control/widgets on the dashboard (for example a "random" entity preview, and tag filtering on the recent widget)
• Character: set the birth & death of a character as a calendar date, to automatically calculate their current age/age at death.
