The Ordo Gladio was the independent, country-wide guild responsible for the safety and security of the people of Aregrionno.
It held no particular loyalty to any province and was staffed by volunteers from every part of the country.
Its activities were mainly centered around fighting crime, border protection, and keeping cities and villages safe.
In the structure of The Covenant of the Three, the Ordo Gladio protects the Ordo Sacculis (Order of the Purse) and Ordo Lavoro (Order of Labor).
The Ordo Gladio was effectively disbanded in early 642 under the order of the Ordo Sacculis (Order of the Purse), and reformed into the Royal Army of Aregis. It became an instrument of the Aregis Alliance in the Aregrionno Civil War.
