Given Dorion's past as occupied territory, not a lot is certain about its history. The general timeline is as follows:
- Pre-Year of the Black Star, effectively nothing is known of the history of the region. The general assumption is that the region contained sparse Human settlements.
- Year of the Black Star (0 5E). The impact of the Year of the Black Star on the Dorion region is not known. However, with the Splitting taking place in Karkarand, this was the start of Orcish Diaspora. Starting from this year on, Orc survivors settled in Imland and, thanks to ocean currents, the Dorion region.
- Dorwin Occupation (~100 5E). Starting around 100 5E, Dorwin seized the Dorion region and integrated it as a 'province'. Over the centuries, massive slave camps would be filled with Orc, Half-orc and human slaves. Dissidents from all over the Empire were sent here to mine Dorion's raw resources.
- War for Independence (618 5E). Unified by Almor Veldt, a wave of slave camp liberations swept over the region, resulting in massive Dorwin loss of life.
- Dorion Independence (622 5E). Dorion manages to solidify their hold on the northern shore of the Dortara, preventing effective troop deployment by Dorwin troops. Dorwin backs down.
- Death of a Leader (633 5E). With the death of Almor Veldt, the father of the revolution, the rivalries between the now-free people of Dorion lit up again, and they mostly retreated to their former slave camps, transforming them into town-fortresses.
