Caer Maerlyn

Court Sorceress' Tower

A fortress that the sorceress Ingrid has reshaped to be the eventual tomb of Maerlyn D'Ambrosio, whom she bitterly hates. The courtyard boasts a large (somewhat unflattering) statue of Maerlyn and and open grave, with a tombstone that reads,

"Here Lies Maerlyn D'Ambrosio, born to trouble in Profundum, where can she truly call home?"

The keep has an aerie large enough for two azhdarchs, which Ingrid uses in tandem wherever she travels. There is no outlying population, only her castle staff and an honor guard. South of the keep, a small but dense and lively forest fills the valley.

This fort was built by the kingdom of Armorcia, and predates the Kingdom of Viltmank. Armorcia was the same dynasty that built the three caerburgs of the Tounbank Rill, though it was not always called Caer Maerlyn. Once it was called Sarnothrond, in honor of an ancient treaty with elves, it is said - though no such treaty is recorded in the histories of Armorcia. Sarnothrond was was ransacked during the fall of the Armorcian empire, and the interior has since been restored in the tastefully opulent fashion of the day.
