The Farenday Pirates (officially the Farenday Pirate Syndicate) inhabit the northern island they name themselves after and are the country's most infamous pirate group. Being a small prosperous state, they can afford the latest in technology and large numbers of equipment. Namely, their navy and coastal raiders are fairly up to date and very well trained. Piracy by Farenday extends from the Polynesian islands, through the Sea of Japan, to the Red Sea. Coastal settlements in Oceanyka, especially in the north, tend to pay a tithe for protection against other pirate groups (and the FPS itself, they are fond of racketeering). Most of its income comes from conventional sources such as cash crop agriculture, tropical woodcutting, shipbuilding, light industry, maritime transport and arms manufacturing.

This organisation has existed for more than a century, though with numerous names and leaders. Its current leadership, under Admiral-Elect Djaru Alkawari, has reformed the group into a true syndicate, fully unionised and in tune with the Oceanykan political currents. This came to be following the 1961 German raid on Farenday, which partially sunk the FPN Floating Fortress, and the subsequent revolution in Cestlep.

Farenday's is a heavily multicultural society which takes in the downtrodden and turns them into vicious mercenaries, sharp merchants or anything in between. Though many of its traditions have been lost, pirate culture thrives in this polity's reach.
