El-Nayar

Dieties

The El-Nayar, often referred to as CelestialsSpirits or Angels, are immortals created by Gods to serve their purposes on Lu'ud. As they are immortal and of the Gods, Celestials are generally considered to be minor deities in their own right, though this is disputed. The appearance and traits of Celestials are highly dependent on their creator, as Celestials are handcrafted by their parent God. Though there is no definitional difference, Celestial is the term for immortal minor deities created by the good and neutral Gods. Immortals created by the Evil Gods are referred to as Fiend. All of the Gods are technically Celestials, but their age, historical context, and immense power leads them to be classified separately.

Some Celestials have portfolios like the Gods they serve, such as Shatahar, Spirit of Winter, who serves Weer, God of Weather and Seasons. Meanwhile, others are without portfolio and generally serve their God, such as Abuleth, who serves Beld but lacks any specific portfolio.

Celestials may come into existence in one of two ways. Some Celestials are born through direct creation by a God. Alternatively, Celestials may be created after a mortal's death. Should the mortal be deemed sufficiently loyal to their deity and also be willing to serve, they may be sent to Elysium upon death and resurrected as an angel in service to their God.
