Makaruset, often called Holy Makaruset, the Sacred Capital, and the Purple City, is the capital and largest city of Urum and one of the largest cities in the world. It boasts a population of 500,000 people. It is the cultural, political, and economic heart of the Urumite Empire, and a major global center for philosophy, trade, travel, and culture. It is also a major port city. Priests and Servants of Beld are required by their order to make a pilgrimage to Makaruset at least once in their lifetime, and Makaruset is the center of the Order of Beld.
