Gruz the Betrayer was an orc warlord during the War of the Gods. Gruz was originally a champion of Beld, however he betrayed Beld for the powers of the Abyss, becoming a servant of Apollyon. He was a member of the Deshen's Council, serving as one of his primary generals. Following Deshen's death, Gruz betrayed mankind and began to serve the Abyss. He was eventually defeated and his remains entombed near what would become the town of Teoran. In the modern day, he was resurrected by a cult which intended to have him return and help destroy the world. Gruz the Betrayer was defeated by heroes Daigax Arnary, Ascend, and the Thin White Duke.
