Kinoclast is a smaller town located to the northeast of Vardev. Its land is under the jurisdiction of the Thurimbane, and thus the Miners Guild. The town is centered around a tall, rickety tower, owned by the eccentric wizard Azmok.
The people of Kinoclast were actually once not people at all, but various objects and animals that were transformed by Azmok. All the inhabitants appear to have varying degrees of imperfections, but seem relatively content with their lives.
Kinoclast was recently plagued by some sickness that affected the town, with mostly minor symptoms including nausea and motion sickness, excepting the major symptom of death if anyone in the town attempted to leave the city limits. The threat of death was removed by the efforts of the wizard Layton Mocksong and the Peas, making it safe to come and go from the town; however, a cause for the sickness was not identified.
Many of the people in the town blame some "hero" (Godfrey) who arrived to slay Azmok before the problems in town began.
